My name is Liu Han Chuan; my English name is Paddy. I am Chinese; I am studying in UK now. Today I would like to talk my experience about studying abroad. 

I have been in UK for half and seven months. Before I came here, I just finished Senior 1. In old periods, people thought studying abroad was a dream, but nowadays studying abroad is true, it is not a dream any longer. A lot of students are going abroad to study, or many students are studying abroad now. The reason why many students are going abroad studying is the standard of life is improving a lots. Their parents thought studying abroad is better than in China like my parents.

Previously, I didn't think about studying abroad. One day, my father asked me if I would like to study abroad. At that time I felt so excited, and I promised him I would like to. The main reason he decided to send me abroad was my English, because from primary school to senior school my English is always better than other subject is, and I am interested in English. Half year past through, I finished all the procedure, for example, my achievement in senior school and my passport, some data of funds and so on. 

During the flight, I missed my parents and my friends in China, I ever wanted to cry, but I knew clearly in my heart that I am a boy, I can't cry, because I chose to study abroad myself.

When I arrived in Manchester Airport, I knew I had to face the new life and new environment, everything is new, the people, the buildings and traffics and so on. The staff went to airport to collect us. When we arrived at Hall of Residence, the first thing to do is to phone my families as soon as possible. I bought the phone card, it cost me 10 quid, but I just talked to my families only five more minutes, it was so expensive. 

Everything was arranged. First few days, we just ate loafs, because we just found store around Hall, we could not find supermarket. Later on, we found supermarket and bought a lot of food, although the food is different from Chinese food. A month later, I could find Chinese supermarket in neighbor city-Leeds.

I got used to suiting the environment of accommodation. But how is the environment of study? Carry on. The college is ten minutes` walk from Resident Hall, and the university is next to college. When the term started, we had to attend the exam first, I attended twice, because my English is better than other Chines students who came here with me are. Two days later, I was distributed to a class, which is level 10; the highest level is 12. Myself satisfied me. I studied hard than I was in China, and my English is improving everyday, maybe the environment affected me. I didn't like to get on with Chinese students, because I knew that it was bad for me to improve my English. I knew a lot of foreign friends, some of them are from Japan, some of them are from Span, and some are from Italy, some are from Korea and so on. I would like to talk them. If I talked to Chinese students, I would not improve my English so fast. A boy who is British is living next to me; I always talk to him to know the culture of England and the customs. He is nice person. I learnt lots from him.

Sometime I do my homework in my room, when I thinking the questions, I always evoke the memories about my families and my friends, actually I miss them so much. Sometime I feel lonely and depressed, of cause I do, I am a just 17-year-old boy, I have no friends and families here, but I know clearly that's why my father decided to send me abroad. He wants me to be strong; he wants me to learn how to take care of myself, and wants me to realize the view of the world and the view of life. He also wants me to know the culture of UK. I know I can't make my father depress and disappointment, I must study hard, I am a lucky boy I can study abroad, many students want to study abroad, but some reasons prevent them from studying abroad. So I must study harder than in China.

Anyway, sometime I feel depressed or trapping in trouble, I ever want to give up. But I talk to myself: " Father works hard to earn money for your study, why not study hard for myself and my future, don't give up, paddy, you can do that, you are the best one, you are excellent, be strong."  And then I feel more powerful and continue to study hard again.

One thing I have to say is that nobody can help you, only yourself can help you, turning bad or good, the decision is on your hands. Only you can create your own world and your bright future. That's it.
