The premier made this remark when addressing the opening ceremony of the third foreign ministers' meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue. In his speech, Wen Jiabao talked about China's macro economic performance, which he says is good. Beijing residents can now buy and sell gold for the first time at China Merchants Bank. The first batch of gold bars worth 5 million yuan or more than 600,000 US dollars has been safely carried into the bank branch in Fu Xingmen in downtown Beijing. The gold bar will be priced according to the London noble metal market with an added processing fee of 109 RMB per ounce.
