 Prepare to loosen your belts a notch! The first Beijing international food festival is to debut next Friday and will continue serving delectable delicacies until late August.
Gourmets from around the world will soon arrive in the capital to sample a lavish spread of culinary creations from some of the globe's best chefs.
The event will also showcase the best local hotels and catering companies to add a dash of Beijing's service industry.
Also, special coupons will be issued to hungry consumers and a variety of activities such as lectures on health and high-level forums on gastronomic culture will be held to tease the taste buds.

Workers of nearly 6,400 enterprises in Beijing will take a one-week vacation by turns,starting next week, in a bid to reduce power consumption during peak hours in the scorching summer.
These companies will be divided into four groups according to their locations to take the vacation by turns.
The "high-temperature vacation", from mid-July to mid-August, is just one of the precautionary measures.
Other precautionary measures include shifting of the weekend to other working days, also by turns, as power consumption at weekend is one million kilowatts fewer than a normal working day.
China may be facing the most severe situation of power shortage since the 1980s, with a gap of 30 million kilowatts between electricity demand and supply this summer.
